As one of the country's most historic day hikes, Kiso Valley, located in the Nagano Prefecture, has been an important path of Japan's commerce for centuries. Easily accessible by train or bus, there is plenty to see on the Kiso Valley hike, from the Mt. Ontake volcano to the old inns of Magome.
