Limited Time Offer on the JR East Pass Special!

 

 The JR East Pass Special will be available for a limited time starting Tuesday, March 1, 2011 in conjunction with the Destination Aomori Campaign, a nationwide tourism promotion running from April through July 2011. Those who purchase the pass will also be able to ride the E5 Series Hayabusa Shinkansen "bullet train" (Ordinary cars only) that debuts on March 5 at no additional charge. The area covered by the pass also applies to convenient JR buses to Lake Towada: the Mizuumi (Aomori/Shin-Aomori – Lake Towada) and the Oirase (Hachinohe – Lake Towada).

◆Sold/Exch. At: Locations for exchange voucher sales (overseas) and sales/exchange counters (Japan) are the same as for the JR East Pass.
* Overseas: Can be purchased through travel agents and the foreign language versions of the JR East website (http://www.jreast.co.jp/e). Japan: Can be purchased at designated locations. (See the Details page for more information.)
 
◆Price: 13,000 yen for adults, 6,500 yen for children * There is no youth rate. (Children 12 and above are the adult rate.)
 
◆Features: This is a flexible 3-day Ordinary Car pass. *There is no Green Car version. * Users can choose any 3 days during a 10-day period starting from the day of issue. They have unlimited use of reserved and non-reserved Ordinary Cars on those three days. Please note that Green Cars, private compartments, sleeper accommodations, Liner and Home Liner type trains are not included within this pass. * The "free area" covered by the pass includes the following:1. All Limited Express trains (including Shinkansen "bullet trains"), Express and Local trains on all JR East, Izu-Kyuko and Hokuetsu-Kyuko, Aoimori Railway, IGR Iwate Galaxy Railway, Tokyo Monorail and Sendai Airport Transit Lines. 2. JR East trains Nikko, Spacia Nikko, Kinugawa and Spacia Kinugawa operating on the non-JR Tobu line. 3. The Mizuumi and Oirase Buses by JR Bus Tohoku. (Seating is limited. Make sure to reserve in advance.)
 
Who Can Buy: Overseas visitors to Japan who enter with a non-Japanese passport under "Temporary Visitor" status (90 days or less). When they exchange an exchange voucher purchased overseas, or purchase the pass in Japan, they must show their passports and visa status. SPECIAL INFO: Take the Sendai Airport Transit Line with the JR EAST PASS and JR EAST PASS SPECIAL! The Sendai Airport Transit Line will be added to the area covered by the JR East Pass starting on Saturday, March 5, 2011. Accordingly, customers who purchase a JR East Pass Exchange Order through an overseas travel agency will be able to make exchanges in Japan at Sendai Airport Station on the Sendai Airport Transit Line. The same can also be done with the limited-time JR East Pass Special.
