Japan is host to a great number of positive superlatives; namely, the "best" this, the "finest" that, etc. We also find lots of words with –est stuck on the end, often followed by "in the world", as seen in the following: the world's tallest free-standing tower (Tokyo Sky Tree, opening May 2012) ; the world's largest planetarium (located in Nagoya City Science Center Museum), the world's cleanest youth hostel (Shin-Osaka Youth Hostel); the world's oldest wooden structure (Horyu-ji Temple in Nara) and the world's tallest lighthouse (the 348 foot tall Marine Tower in Yokohama). Japan has also been declared the most meeting-est county (OK, had to stretch a bit here, but Japan was Asia's top venue for international meetings), best in tourism for 2011-2012 for its valiant continuing recovery from last year's disaster (as ranked by the County Brand Index) and for having the most Michelin starred restaurants (Tokyo).
